Cambridge Early Years

Ages 3–6KBB, TK A, TK B (Early Years 1–3)

A play-based programme that puts your child at the heart of their learning. Six connected learning areas, Communication, language & literacy; Personal, social & emotional development; Creative expression; Physical development; Mathematics; and Understanding the world, are taught together as children play and discover the world around them. It also supports children whose home language is not English.

How progress is measured

Continuous formative assessment: teachers observe children in the learning environment and track progress against key milestones. There are no exams.

Our Toddler class (age 2) prepares children for Cambridge Early Years. [Confirm: KBB = EY1, TK A = EY2, TK B = EY3]

About the Cambridge programme

Learning through play

Every day has a rhythm children can trust: Circle Time, Bible Time, Learning Through Play, Body and Movement, and Numerical Time.

Faith from the first day

Children learn that they are loved by God through prayer, songs, Bible stories and loving teachers, and celebrate Christmas and Easter together.

English from Early Years 2

Communication, Language and Literacy is taught as English as a Second Language by a local teacher and a native speaker together, alongside Mathematics and Understanding the World.

Ready for Cambridge Primary

By TK B, children communicate confidently, recognise colours, numbers and shapes in English, and manage meals and the toilet on their own.
